From Trees to Tap - Celebrate the fall colors and the source of your water!
Alpine County, California, high in the Sierra Nevada, is home to the headwaters of 5 major rivers: American River, Stanislaus River, Mokelumne River, Truckee River and Carson River. The Alpine Aspen Festival is a celebration of the beauty and vital role of aspen groves in providing clean water to millions in California and Nevada. The Alpine Aspen Festival is a joint effort of Alpine Watershed Group & Friends of Hope Valley.
The Alpine Watershed Group 501(c) 3 (AWG) is a grassroots organization led by dedicated volunteers who are committed to preserving the Alps of California and the clean water they provide. The Alpine Aspen Festival is AWG’s way of engaging the public to value watersheds as a critical common good. Festival proceeds help support AlpineWatershed Group in its work to protect and enhance your watershed. For more information about Alpine Watershed Group visit www.alpinewatershedgroup.org
The Friends of Hope Valley is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the historic, recreational, and scenic values of Hope Valley and the Sierra Nevada’s eastern slope in Alpine County. Formed in 1985 in response to a proposal to run power transmission lines through the valley, the Friends have been successful in their ongoing protection efforts by preserving over 25,000 acres of open space. Become a member. With your support we can continue to address the sensitive environmental concerns of the eastern Sierra.
