Product Description

Do you want to know a secret?

Join this two hour, semi-private class and you will learn the essentials of fly fishing a mountain stream, including casting, equipment, knots, reading water, and finding fish.  And maybe you will discover a secret about yourself as your casting, your breathing and the water’s flow all find the same rhythm.  (Here’s a hint: there’s more to fishing than the catching.)

The Carson River in tranquil Hope Valley is the setting for your session with world-renowned local expert guide Judy Warren-Wickwire.  Beaver ponds provide deep, calm water perfect for learning to cast. This laid-back class is short on space and long on personal attention. It is the perfect opportunity to try your hand at a new sport, with guidance from a patient professional and encouragement from your empathetic pals.  Or, if you’re an experienced fly fisher, get expert advice on correcting errors, improving your technique and tips on local waters.

Fishermen age 16 and older must have a California 2017 fishing license (purchase online before arrival at   http://www.dfg.ca.gov/licensing/ols/ )  All equipment is provided. (Minimum age 10 years old, accompanied by an adult.)

About your guide: Judy Warren-Wickwire is a professional fishing coach and owner of Horse Feathers Fly Fishing School. She has authored two guidebooks about local fly fishing. Judy also volunteers with the Alpine Watershed Group.
