LOCATION

The Alpine Aspen Festival takes place in Hope Valley, Alpine County, California. This is roughly 1/2 hour south of Lake Tahoe, or 3/4 hour south of Carson City, or 2 hours east of Sacramento. But plan a little extra time for a leisurely drive as you stop to photograph the brilliant fall colors!

The Festival headquarters is Hope Valley Recreation Area, but some activities will go a few miles off-site.

DIRECTIONS

The headquarters for the Alpine Aspen Festival is the Hope Valley Recreation Area located on Blue Lakes Road & Highway 88. Activities may take place at different venues, so be sure to check your confirmation for starting location and times. All activities check-in at the Festival headquarters; stop there first. 

From Lake Tahoe (Highway 50 origin) - Take Highway 89 south over Luther Pass. At the intersection of Highway 88 turn right (west). Drive approximately 2 miles then, watch for the signs for SNO PARK and Hope Valley Campground and Blue Lakes. Turn left on Blue Lakes Road, and make the first left turn into the large parking area. **THIS IS A LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF A BLIND CURVE - WATCH FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND PROCEED QUICKLY WHEN SAFE** USE YOUR TURN INDICATOR EARLY!

From Nevada (Highway 395 origin)- Take Highway 88 west, and continue past Woodfords approximately 9 miles then, watch for the signs for SNO PARK and Hope Valley Campground and Blue Lakes. Turn left on Blue Lakes Road, and make the first left into the large parking area. **THIS IS A LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF A BLIND CURVE - WATCH FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND PROCEED QUICKLY WHEN SAFE** USE YOUR TURN INDICATOR EARLY!

From Kirkwood (Sacramento/Stockton origin) - Take Highway 88 east for approximately 12 miles, turn right onto Blue Lakes Road, and make the first left turn into the large parking area.
